Britons in ‘zombie walk’ record bid
07 Aug 09
Thousands of Britons will try and outdo each other to be the “scariest of them all” in a bid to break the world record for the biggest Zombie walk.
This August, organisers of the Big Chill festival have urged music lovers to appear as zombies so that they can feature as extras for the shooting of a film, and simultaneously set a new world record.
Organisers hope to break the current record for the world’s largest gathering of zombies which was set in Seattle last month when 3,894 people turned up as the undead.
There will be “zombification stations” at the Eastnor Castle Deer Park to hand-out fake blood and face-paint to anyone not in sync with the ghostly theme.
Comedian Noel Fielding of the Mighty Boosh fame will also be on-site, in the lead role as the Zombie King.
In the Film4 and Warp Films’ production titled I Spit On Your Rave, mankind has been wiped out by a virus unleashed at the 2012 Olympics.
After the shooting, the festival will screen classic zombie films all night. This year, the four-day annual festival features performances by Basement Jaxx, former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne and Orbital
