Thousands join dance procession

London was transformed into "a giant open air stage" this week when thousands of people joined a dance parade from the Southbank Centre to Trafalgar Square.
Those who took part in the Big World Dance performed a choreographed routine, directed by Luca Silvestrini - artistic director of Protein Dance.
People were given the opportunity to learn the dance for free at workshops across the capital. The participants also danced to a specially created soundtrack played live in Trafalgar Square by DJ Walde.
London Mayor Boris Johnson said: "The past week has once again underlined the extraordinary power of dance.
"With thousands upon thousands of Londoners - of all shapes and sizes, ages and abilities - taking part, Big Dance has been a foot-stomping, toe-tapping, high kicking triumph."
The dance procession, which took place on July 10, was the grand finale of the nine-day T-Mobile Big Dance 2010 event.
Tina Cleary, senior brand experience manager for T-Mobile, said: "Today's dance has been the perfect finale to T-Mobile's Big Dance 2010, we've been absolutely delighted to see how infectious dance is, inspiring thousands of Londoners to get up and have some fun."
