Scientists study rocker Ozzy's DNA
01 Jul 10
Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne is to be studied by scientists to work out how he has survived his extreme lifestyle.
The 61-year-old's DNA will be analysed by researchers in St Louis to find out how decades of substance abuse haven't taken their toll on the rocker.
Jon Armstrong, chief marketing officer for St Louis-based Cofactor Genomics, said Ozzy had asked for his DNA to be mapped by a human genomics company in Massachusetts.
Cofactor is partnering in the effort.
Mr Armstrong said the mapping may not offer definitive answers about the long-time Black Sabbath frontman's relative longevity. But it could help understanding of the relationship between DNA and the environment.
