Honeymoon bride settles for tent

Honeymoon bride settles for tent

A newly-wed bride has settled for a tent instead of the traditional honeymoon hideaway, so that her husband can take part in a 24-hour mountain bike event.
Nigel Moore, 47, and his wife Alison, 49 - who got married at Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire - went directly from their wedding to the Original Source Mountain Mayhem event at Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire.
Reflecting on the first few hours of her married life, Alison, from Biddulph, Staffs, said it was an absolutely fabulous weekend, one that would be always remembered.
She said: "Some people may think I'm crazy to allow my wedding to be taken over by a mountain bike event, but I know it's Nigel's passion and I just wanted to support him."
Mr Moore, who has competed in the event for the past seven years, said they had to bring the wedding forward as a relative was ill.
He added: "I'd resigned myself to not being able to take part this year, but then Alison insisted I must go ahead as she knew how much it meant to me.
"I'm a very lucky man!"
