Springwatch sofa to be sold off
21 Jun 10
A sofa, used by stars such as Kate Humble and Simon King in the BBC Springwatch programme, is to be sold off to raise money for charity.
The battered piece of furniture - which has been a big part of the TV programme for six years - will be sold after the last show in the series to raise cash for the BBC Wildlife Fund, which works to save endangered animals.
Viewers can bid at bbc.co.uk/wild until June 22.
On Sunday, BBC2 will telecast a live two-hour telethon - Wild Night In - hosted by Humble, Chris Packham and Martin Hughes-Games to raise money for conservation projects.
Celebrity guests including Edith Bowman and Graham Norton as well as David Attenborough and conservationists will also take part in the live show.
Over £2 million has been raised by the BBC Wildlife Fund to protect threatened animals and wild places in the UK and abroad.
