Dizzee to rap England to Cup glory
03 Jun 10
Rapper Dizzee Rascal is joining Gavin And Stacey actor, James Corden, to record an unofficial anthem encouraging England to bring home the World Cup.
The duo is reworking on the Tears For Fears hit Shout, with Dizzee urging the English team, which does not have an official anthem this year, to give the fans a victory.
Dizzee raps: "Come on England, we need to sort it out, put the champs down, pull your finger out, leave the Wags alone, set aside your ego, we're tired of bragging about 40-odd years ago, we need a victory, quick, fast."
The track has been masterminded by Britain's Got Talent supremo Simon Cowell.
Royalties from sales of the song will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
England fans have been invited to lend their voices to the chorus and phone firm TalkTalk has provided a number - 0800 0494949. Calls to it are free on a UK landline although calling via other mobile companies may incur a charge. The line closes at 11pm on Friday.
Supporters can also upload their videos on the TalkTalk Shout For England campaign website.
