Michelle Obama donates ball gown

Michelle Obama has donated the gown that she wore to the 2009 inaugural ball to the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, keeping with the tradition.
The US first lady said she will remember the moment she slipped into her gown, designed by Jason Wu, for the rest of her life.
The one-shouldered, white chiffon design dotted with beads and covered in fabric petals will be displayed in a new gallery for the museum's first ladies exhibit, that has a collection of dresses and accessories belonging to president's wives from Mamie Eisenhower to the present.
Mrs Obama's gown was the centre of attention at 10 inaugural balls held to mark Barack Obama's swearing-in as the 44th president of the USA.
Memories of the night came rushing back when she saw the gown for the first time after more than a year, she said.
Recalling the weather was freezing cold on January 20, 2009 and the day was hectic, Mrs Obama added that she had less than an hour to get ready for the ball.
