Wheelchair club gets new premises

An Ipswich wheelchair football club will celebrate its relaunch with a game at its revamped premises.
Ipswich Charioteers have been training at alternative locations for a year but are scheduled to move back into the rebuilt sports hall at St Alban's Catholic High School on Saturday.
The mayor of Ipswich David Goldsmith and local Labour MP Chris Moles will cut a red ribbon to mark the day, and will take a tour of the new premises before the team plays its first game there.
As part of the much-needed makeover, the sports hall was improved with changing room and toilets with disabled access, storage space for wheelchairs and equipment as well as indoor waiting areas.
Founder of the club and wheelchair user Claire O'Brien-Ellington said: "It's a really good thing. We'll be able to have more members, more electric wheelchairs and a place to store our equipment.
"We may also be able to extend our hours of training."
St Alban's Catholic High School funded the refurbishing and the team will now be able to hold indoor games in two separate areas and take full advantage of the new facilities.
