Liquid egg aimed at lazy students

Liquid egg aimed at lazy students

An egg-citing new product is being launched this week for people who would rather not crack an egg.
Oaklands Farm Eggs has developed fresh liquid egg, which comes in a carton and contains around 10 eggs per half litre, made from 100% pasteurised British Lion eggs.
The product is called Egg In An Instant and if unopened can last as long as 21 days, or three days once opened.
There will be two types available - free-range and non free-range - and it is due to be unveiled at the International Food and Drink Event at London's ExCeL centre.
Elwyn Griffiths from Oaklands Farm Eggs told The Grocer magazine: "We want to make it easier for people to eat in.
"There is a massive student market out there, massively lazy, massively into convenience."
Retailers are expected to stock Egg In An Instant in their chiller cabinets near the milk section.

Why all the moaning? Dont any of you use convenience food products?

I thought we were supposed to be getting more responsible about our waste - surely this is so irresponsible as eggs come in their own packaging - Mother Nature produced the shell which is the best packaging!

Waste of time, energy and packaging! If you can't learn to crack an egg nor be bothered to it says alot.

This is the greatest idea since sliced bread ... can't wait to egg-cumulate a carton.

i learnt to crack an egg last week and im 30 so dont worry but when i was a student it was always the cheapest products i bought, free range are a lot more expensive than the other eggs though. u can buy 24 non free range for the price of 6 free range

It's just pain lazy...I mean how hard is it to crack an egg, and it takes 1 second! And they should only sell free-range -If a skint student (who this product is aimed at) has a choice between free-range and non free-range, they are hardly going to spend an extra whatever on free-range, they're going to buy whatever one is cheapest, ie. non free-range.

Im not going to egg on the bad puns, but I do think its a smashing idea. Its an easy way to lay an egg, on a pan in the morning.

What if you want a dippy egg or a fried egg? This is a bit naff!

Claire24/03/2009 10:48:18

They use liquid egg all the time in America - I guess it stops the problem when you get a bit of shell in the bowl. What I can't understand is why "non-free range" exists... surely everyone should be buying free range now.

This is convenience gone mad!
