Spend a Penny to Beat the Credit Crunch

Spend a Penny to Beat the Credit Crunch

A new web site has been launched which finds items ending soon on Ebay with a bid value of only one penny. Freelance programmer Huw Watkins, who developed www.pennyshopper.co.uk says, 'It's hard to believe the genuine bargains which can be bought on ebay for just one pence. These can include designer clothes and shoes, watches, baby items, DVDs, electical items, and rare collectables like books and coins. Many sellers start auctions at one penny to attract bids and keep costs down. Unfortunately for the sellers (but great for buyers!) some of these auctions, due to the sheer volume of items sold on Ebay, slip under the radar and remain unsold. Whereas one week an item starting at one penny will take off with multiple bids, in other weeks an identical item can stay at just one pence - a real bargain for the taking.' www.pennyshopper.co.uk has been developed under Ebay's Developer program, which encourages programmers to present the items for sale on Ebay in novel and interesting ways.

Nice idea but lots of ebay items that are of any value have a reserve limit, so If you do attempt to get a cheap bargin you will end up disapointed. Also i'd feel kinda bad if someone was selling somthing expensive but I was too cheap to pay the real price and try and get it for 1 pence. I think that would be very mean.
