Mum in a Million - Winner Announced!
Return to home
What makes a Mum in a Million? It’s always difficult picking our competition winners, and we knew there were going to be plenty of amazing entries for this one in particular! But this time it was just about impossible - we had so many tributes about your fantastic mums who, through good times and bad, have always been an incredible inspiration to their families.
However, as always we’ve got to pick one winner, and the winning story was sent in by Suzanne Collin from Erith, Kent, who wanted to be able to treat her mum Janet to something special this Sunday.
Congratulations Janet Collin, you’re our Mum in a Million! Here's a photograph of Janet with her granddaughter Olivia.
Suzanne’s winning story about her mum was:
“My Mum is one in a million. Not only is she a fantastic mum to me and my sister, but she is there for all my friends too. Some of my friends have had tough lives and difficult times. She is the stability and mother figure that some of them have never had, and I cannot thank her enough for being so kind, unselfish, non judgmental, always has a shoulder ready to cry on and will always make us laugh! Thanks Mum - you truly are one in a million!! Xxx”
Upon being contacted by ING, Suzanne said:
“I’m so excited, I’ve never won anything before! It’s my Mum’s birthday this weekend too, so it’ll be a double celebration. My sister and I don’t have much money at the moment, but now we’re planning to treat Mum to a spa or weekend break as soon as we can. Thanks again, what a great birthday and mother’s day surprise for her. She is chuffed to bits and it even made her cry.”
The panel of judges that chose the winner said:
“We were overwhelmed by the number of entries we had into the competition. We choose Suzanne as our winner as we felt her mum needed a treat after being so supportive to not only her daughters but also to Suzanne’s friends. She truly is a mum in a million.
Thank you everyone for entering and we wish you all a fantastic Mother’s day.”
